I think this is a good example of how much nicer pencil drawings are to digital. i wanted to show an overlay of mine to his but really, it's just annoying on the eyes and we don't want that :)

Here are some other wip doodles whilst i was coming up with the image i posted last night. That painting of the dude in the mountain, is huge. Pixel count i mean. But that mage was actually only a smaller part of a larger image. The painting was meant to be inside the right guys finger (Pixars 'Day & Night' tribute)

If you haven't seen that short film before Toy Story 3, I recommend buying it.(think it comes out Nov 2nd). Along with all the behind the scene stuff they give. Im hoping for hours and hours of toy story production videos. Pixars extras usually leave you satisfied with your buy.

Here is the largest image i have at the moment. The idea is to set up a camera and have all of these images (my portfolio) embedded in this big world (which is gonna be my practice for doing a bunch more environments. And after it comes to this image, im hoping to place it all over an alien world, that zooms out to space, so im gonna draw the Galaxy.

Here is something working on at the moment along with a few other things. At this stage, its still very messy, not meaning the coffee stain but this is a photo of a doodle, i have yet to scan it in and cleanup. I wanted to get a better idea of how i wanted the final image to look so i took them into photoshop. I love doing this piece, took me back to technical drawing back in school but with the freedom to explore and create a whole scene. more of these to come too. when im done with everything. YUP.

I havent posted in a while. Im back to drawing. Been getting a good few doodles together bit by bit and ill make a large dump here soon enough. Hold tight little ones!
I lost my wacom pen last week so that sucks. No idea where it is and considering i havent left the house..ever, i am confused by this. Head hurtings.
I drew this bunny earlier, scanned him into the computer unfinshed just so i play with him. I usually end up staring at drawings and thinking them out for sometimes hours, depending on how much i like it..before i make another move on it to finish. mm, maybe not such a good thing but i like the staredowns. He still needs another leg and arms but i know where im gonna put them now, so..yeah. why am i still awake..

First Zbrush Model (WIP)

So, after getting a nudge from a friend (Rene Larsen- http://www.cellart.dk/ ) i downloaded the zbrush trial and went through the Intro to Zbrush videos from the ADP class over on 3dbuzz ( http://www.3dbuzz.com ) and played around. Here is my current progress on this dudes head.

I wanted to throw out a quick post about this because personally, i found it pretty interesting and i think its worth a look. I wont do this too often but i know the guy and i like to help out. His name is Michael Marner

Foam Sculpting
The inspiration for this work came out of a project we did with some industrial design students. Their job was to create some input devices for my SAR Airbrushing system. First up, we had a meeting where I showed them a very early stages of development version of the system, to give them an idea of what we were doing. They went away and came up with ideas for input devices, and in the next meeting had a bunch of sketches ready. We discussed the sketches; what we liked and what we didn’t like. Next, they brought us foam mockups of some of the designs. We discussed these, and then eventually they came back with full CAD models ready for 3D printing. They did a great job by the way. But it got us thinking:

I need to study a hell of a lot more anatomy as you can seeee. The book i got (John Raynes Complete Anatomy and Figure Drawing)) was pretty helpful and in depth with all the muscles and tissues, but again, this wasnt really a start on anatomy, i was just playing. Even still, he's not finished. im going to study anatomy now for the next few weeks which is quite a departure from my usual take, but hopefully it will help in the long run

two slight variations. I originally was just drawing the guy and started doodling his shadow and then the rest happened. its still a doodle and im probably going to extend the width to about triple its size now. add in a docking station and a boat, some outside chairs from a restaurant/coffee shop and some more characters.

Tim Hortons and I have no relationship, but apparenly they've coffee-washed my brain into making them be the first brand i think of. It does have a nice ring to it..
